- Articles:
Please send all articles by email by the 23rd of each month for inclusion in the following month's newsletter. (I will try to include items received later than that, but I can't promise that articles received late will be included.) - Calendar items:
Again, please make sure I receive them by the 23rd of each month. - Pictures:
Include the following information: - The name of the photographer;
- The names of those in the picture (if known);
- The location and event (eg., "Denver, Democratic National Convention"); and
- The date the picture was taken.
Adhering to these guidelines will help me to avoid errors and omissions -- although there probably will be some errors and omissions, anyway! Please email me with any errors or omissions you spot -- if they are substantive, I can correct them in the following issue. Over time, this whole process will get smoother as we all get into the rhythm of getting this out. Newsletters are a collaborative effort; this newsletter belongs to all of us, and we each have an important part to play. Hi everybody. This is an invite to everyone who can't get to D.C. (I chickened out) for the inauguration to come for munch-lunch and celebration 11:00am Tuesday 20-February. I'll put on a pot of soup and do my best to master streaming so I can project the event with the LCD. There is also TV in another room. No end time. Come and go as you wish except 12 to 1 be here and hush! Then we make noise. They'll hear us in Washington. Bring whatever you wish or nothing. The address is 764 Hawthorne Lane, Rock Hill. From Cherry Road turn onto Charlotte, travel 5 blocks to Hawthorne, turn left, go 1-1/2 blocks, park on the street. When you see a little red car with Obama sticker in the driveway (on your right) you are at the right place. From Glencairn Gardens go past the Y, past the Oratory, then the next right onto Hawthorne. Tinker toys for the kiddies in a separate room. RSVP if you feel like it. 327-9610 or email

This inaugural meeting will be January 8 at 7 PM as we welcome Jay Parmley, Executive Director of the SC Democratic Party. Jay is a member of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) as an At-Large Member appointed by DNC Chairman Governor Howard Dean. He also serves on their 12-member Budget and Finance Committee. He is a trainer for DFA – Democracy for America. He was previously a member of the DNC Executive Committee.
